He further criticized BJP for keeping students, teachers, people whole day in the field to keep the field covered.

“PM talked about International Airport but it was a former Govt’s project. Apart from that no international flight could be added, rather flights’ numbers decreased nationally. Same with Indo-Bangla Railway project which is an old project started before Modi Govt”, said Chowdhury.

“PM failed to address about his pre-poll promises and his Vision Document as those promises could not be kept”, added Chowdhury. 

Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman said, “Working class people were told if they do not visit the Astabal stadium then their mandays’ payment will be slashed. School teachers, and students participated in cultural programs were kept there forcefully”.

“20 crores were spent to organize the program. In the name of Govt program, a political program was conducted. People’s money has been flooded. Still, people of Tripura were expecting some words from the Prime Minister but he said nothing new. The works which he claimed were nothing but JUMLA. People know the JUMLA trick and that’s why people have boycotted PM’s program”.

“Modi talked about Airport whereas the Airport’s fund was allocated by the UPA Govt. All projects which under planning commission were launched by CM, now with NITI Aayog’s banner the credit has been taken by PM. Why didn’t PM talk about the pre-election promises given to the people of Tripura ?”, asked Sudip Barman. 

Trinamool Congress President Pijush Biswas on Monday reacted to PM Modi’s speech at Astabal ground saying it was kind of old wine was put in a new bottle, means nothing new he could speak for the people of Tripura.

“The program was at Govt expenditure but it was a purely political program. Such of waste of public fund”, exclaimed Biswas.

“Actually PM Modi is realizing that in the upcoming poll, there is no chance for BJP to regain power and that’s why by using Govt machinery the program was organized. DM, SP all were put into work. Beneficiaries were threatened if they do not participate in the rally their wages will be slashed and Govt employees were also forced to participate in the rally. Such a dirty method was applied for political campaigning”, said Pijush Biswas.

“The money which should be expended for the public benefit was used for political campaigning. What can be expected from the JUMLA Govt? Before 2018 so many promises were given but PM remained silent over those promises”, added Biswas.
