AGARTALA, Dec 13 (TIWN): BJP-backed miscreants poured petrol and set fire to Congress leader Sudhir Sharma's house in Sabrum's Manubazar, last midnight. Sudhir Sharma's house would be completely burnt if the fire service did not come and extinguish the fire in the right time and the damage would have been greater.

CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Choudhury, Sabrum Sub-Committee Secretary Arun Tripura, MLA Prabhat Chowdhury and sub-committee members visited his house this morning to express their condolences and call for a stand against such destructive acts of BJP goons.

It is noted that recently in Manubazar, the Congress led by Sudhir Sharma has been active in reviving the Congress, so it is believed to have fallen under the influence of BJP.
