AGARTALA, Dec 12 (TIWN): 50,000 Jobs in a year turned into Lathi Charge on qualified unemployed Youths. The 2022 STGT qualified candidates seeking immediate recruitment at a time gheraoed Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath’s residence, but the Police brutally tortured them, whereas lathi-charge left over 40 youths injured.
During the gherao program an STGT qualified teacher said, “Few days back state’s Finance Minister Jishnu Debbarman gave a statement in a Press meet that Our Govt has huge fund and our Govt can do anything. If the Govt is rich then why are we on roads for jobs?”.
The statement came after Ratan Lal Nath claimed that there is no fund to recruit more graduate teachers right now.
Another qualified candidate said, “The Education Minister indirectly told us that due to the financial crisis, Finance Department is unable to give approval to recruit STGT qualified teachers, when only 617 Jobs were given for Class-9 and 10 since 2018. Why is such injustice happening to us?”
Besides the agitating youths alleged Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath not giving any importance to Class-9 and 10th students.
After 40 job aspirants were taken to IGM hospital for treatment. However from police no help was provided to bring the injured persons to hospital.
