SONAMURA, Dec 12 (TIWN): Tow persons were detained by Sonamura and Melaghar police with huge amount of Brown Sugar.
On Sunday night on the basis of secret information, Sonamura police officer Sameer Roy and Sonamura police station OC Manik Debnath raided the house of Idris Mia (45) in the Kulubari area and recovered about one crore worth of brown sugar.
It is known that twenty cases of brown sugar have been recovered, the market value of which will be around one crore rupees.
The police arrested two people and brought them to the police station on suspicion of being involved in the brown sugar peddling.
The arrested persons are Rubel Hossain (28) of Ward No. (5) area of Kulubari Village Panchayat. The other person's name is Nurul Amin (38). His house is in Ward No. (2) area of Bejimara Gram Panchayat.
NDPS cases have been registered against both.
