AGARTALA, Dec 7 (TIWN): On Tuesday night, Kajal Debnath, a woman Congress worker was stopped and beaten up by the ruling party BJP Mahila Morcha workers on her way back to her home in Chandrapur area from Kashipur Bazar under East Women PS. It is known that the woman Congress worker named Kajal Debnath is a supporter of Congress and Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman of 6-Agartala Assembly Constituency. Because of her association with the Congress party for a long time, the ruling party's BJP Mahila Morcha workers found her on the road and severely beat him up and abused him in obscene language for the crime of supporting Congress.

On hearing this news on Wednesday, Women Congress workers rushed to Kajal Debnath's house and inquired about her health. And later she was brought to the East Women PS and a case was registered against the accused women.

Women Congress activist Rupa Rai Das strongly condemned the incident and raised questions about women's safety in state as well as expressed extreme angst against the ruling BJP party.
