AGARTALA, Dec 7 (TIWN): On Tuesday night, Kajal Debnath, a woman Congress worker, was beaten up by the ruling party BJP Mahila Morcha workers on her way back to her home in Chandrapur from Kashipur Bazar under East Agartala Women PS.

It is known that the woman Congress worker named Kajal Debnath is a supporter of Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman from Agartala area.

Because of her association with the Congress party for a long time, the ruling BJP Mahila Morcha workers targeted her and several women beat her up and abused her in obscene language.

A complaint was lodged against BJP women workers.

Mahila Congress activist Rupa Rai Das condemned the incident and raised questions about women's safety in this state under BJP rule.
