AGARTALA, Nov 29 (TIWN): Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman on Tuesday lashed out at the BJP Govt over its fake promises given from time to time before the election and also after election. After the completion of 4 days long “Tripura Bachao” movement, Congress organized a press meet and said that public have raised various issues before the Congress members during the movement and BJP’s empty promises like IT hub, AIIMS, three more Tripura Bhawans in Rajasthan, Bangaluru, Mumbai were also raised by public. Addressing media, Congress MLA Sudip Barman said Congress as a “constructive opposition” will raise these issues on behalf of public as people across Tripura can’t reach out to the Govt with their all issues.
Sudip Barman said, lots of people have expressed frustration over the discontinuation of the Distance Education at Tripura University as due to economic situation and also physical issues, many students chose to study in distant mode.
“The Govt had promised to convert the Old Jail into IT hub and our unemployed youths to be appointed. It was promised that AIIMS hospital to start. Can’t we ask as constructive opposition, what are the statuses of those projects”, said Barman.
He further criticized the BJP Govt over vacant posts and non-recruitment of passed out candidates.
Barman also condemned the inhuman bulldozing of small shops without paying compensation to them and the looting of the shopkeepers’ all necessary items, money inhumanly.
The Congress MLA also informed that at least 47 Congress workers were attacked, injured by BJP goons in last few days of “Tripura Bachao” movement.
