AGARTALA, Nov 27 (TIWN): Addressing Nari Samiti’s program, former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Sunday said that BJP Govt has kept no space for women to raise their voice.
“It will be wrong to state that under the previous Left Govt, there was no crime against women but women at that time could raise their voices. They could go to women commission, police, Ministers and could make sure that the culprits are arrested but today that space is taken away from them”, said Manik Sarkar condemning further how ruling party leaders, Ministers are now trying to save such criminals.
“BJP Govt is trying to spread rumors against Left Govt. In five years they could not fulfill any promise of Vision Document. Now ahead of Election, a few promises are trying to be shown as fulfilled just as slashing social pensions, BJP Govt is now trying to show that Rs. 2000 allowances have been given whereas to keep the budget under control maximum people’s social pensions were slashed. Moreover, people are not getting allowances regularly”, said Manik Sarkar.
