AGARTALA, Nov 20 (TIWN): Just few months back, BJP senior leader cum Belonia MLA Arun Chandra Bhoumik demanded an audit of Minister Ratan Lal Nath’s property rise which was not entertained by the local BJP leadership but similar reports are not kept hidden from the Central Leadership. Not only Ratan Lal Nath but the top corrupt and commission collector who was sacked Chief Minister Biplab Deb was removed from the CM post 6 months back. Apart from top leadership, local corruption at the Panchayat level is also evident. In case of MGNREGA, Central Funds came but how were they distributed?

BJP Govt did not provide MGNREGA works among people, rather BJP leaders collected the amount by signing in MGNREGA man-days notebook, without doing any works. Sometimes, workers were engaged in cultivating vegetables in BJP leaders’ houses and similar works. Tender system is fully politicalized and licenses are too same.

Jobs like TSR created chaos in Agartala city as BJP party workers themselves alleged bribes were taken in exchange for TSR jobs whereas many of them did not get jobs even after paying bribes.

Any property purchasing or selling cost the common men a lot with hefty amounts of commissions that need to be paid to the local leaders (brokers)

From Covid kits to the privatizing of Govt labs, and blood banks, huge corruption is going on. Even ambulance services, BJP, RSS backed organizations are preventing smooth functioning of the Health System for tips and commissions. Also, such organizations run by BJP are stopping new ambulances’ entry into Govt hospitals.

In exchange for PMAY houses, massive commissions are being taken by the local BJP leaders.

With all these, people could not get the benefits after 5 years of the BJP Govt. So “Sabka-Sath, Sabka-Vikas” was practically not possible under the Double Engine Govt.
