AGARTALA, Nov 15 (TIWN): Amid teachers’ crisis, Tripura BJP Govt is reluctant to recruit teachers at a large number even after having thousands of qualified candidates. On Tuesday, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath while addressing a college program claimed about massive developmental works in the Education sector in last 5 years which he added with a remark “No other Govt could do that much for the state”.

Ratan Lal Nath also lectured journalists on how should they write their contents. However, practical experiences would depict a different scenario.

Chakmaghat Senior Basic school which was built in 2003 is having 68 students now due to lack of proper infrastructure and sufficient teachers.

For the local people of Mungiakami’s Guchhagram area, this is the only school where their children can be sent but in last few years the school was never visited by any Govt representative left the school in miserable shape. Numbers of dropouts have also increased.

For the upper primary classes only 3 teachers have been provided.

The school has no electricity, no boundary wall and also no drinking water. Due to such crisis, Education system is in jeopardy there.

Talking to some of the locals it was known that the mid-day-meal services are also not provided properly in the school. There is extreme shortage of teachers.

However, this is not the only school that is facing similar problems but there are many schools especially in the ADC areas which are out of limelight but Education system has just remained for namesake there. Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath although with media persons visited town area schools but does not dare to visit such ADC areas’ schools.
