AGARTALA, Nov 14 (TIWN): Opposition CPI-M has demanded the State Govt to file a review petition in the Supreme Court of India as EWS quota was ruled in by the Court and 10323 teachers’ jobs were also given on the same category which was found a violation of recruitment rule by the High Court as that time there was no EWS quota system. CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury pointed if the Govt has the intention to save 10323 teachers’ jobs, it will do that; otherwise, it will be proven that Tripura BJP Govt has no concern over 10323 teachers’ matter and only lectures are given to hide its failure. Jitendra Chowdhury accepted that with EWS quota reservation’s rule introduction the previous verdicts of High Court and Supreme Court will not be automatically cancelled but an attempt should be taken for a review petition as now there is a strong chance that 10323 teachers may get justice and their jobs may be restored.

Chowdhury mentioned 80% jobs among 10323 teachers were given based on poor economic situation of the families.

“I do not say, based on the latest judgment of Supreme Court the 10323 teachers’ verdict will turn illegitimate but questions are being asked about the role of BJP Govt’s drama about 10323 teachers’ issue. Especially, Ratan Lal Nath always says if the Supreme Court permits, he will immediately restore jobs of 10323 teachers. If BJP Govt really has any humanitarian intention to secure 10323 teachers’ jobs, the Govt must appeal for a review petition regarding 10323 teachers’ verdict via its standing council at Supreme Court. Govt must do it tomorrow without wasting any time. This step may not only save 10323 teachers but to save Tripura students in Govt schools who are deprived of proper education due to teachers' crisis”, said Jitendra Chowdhury.

On the other side, 10323 teachers said that their jobs were never gone except few of the 10323 teachers and due to wrong explanation of the High Court and Supreme Court verdict, the teachers were illegally terminated.

The 10323 teachers also alleged that they were never provided termination letters and their previous economic situations like BPL facility were not resumed. Due to the lack of termination letters, the terminated teachers are deprive of many facilities.
