AGARTALA, Nov 10 (TIWN): Massive corruption allegations have been raised against the Melaghar Municipality in the construction of new slabs in Melaghar market.
Various corruption allegations of the Melaghar Municipality are coming to light. It is known that the Melaghar Municipality was once again involved in corruption in the construction of new slabs in the Melaghar market. Allegedly some members of Melaghar Municipality are not aware of this work.
It is alleged the Chairman handed over the work to Ward No. 6 Councilor Lipika Saha’s Husband and Booth No.- 22/23 President Ramu Saha (Gopal) for the construction of slabs of Rs 1. 35 Lakh.
Also, it is alleged by locals that old rods, bricks are being used to create the slabs. Locals are claiming that all the bricks are being made with sand and are of very low quality.
