AGARTALA, Nov 10 (TIWN): Power of Tripura oppositions are on question mark ahead of Tripura crucial Assembly Election 2023. Only 10323 teachers under JMC were capable to gherao CM’s residence back in 2021, January 27 which left over 500 agitating teachers injured. Tripura major opposition is CPI-M but what the party legislators have done in Assembly except walking out and holding press conferences outside the Assembly?
But in comparison with 2017 (one year ahead of Tripura last Assembly Election) Tripura’s opposition BJP was roaring across the state taking IPFT along with. From National Highway blockade through IPFT to the then Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s residence gherao for days continued led by Sunil Deodhar, the former BJP Incharge. The entire state was polarized by BJP and IPFT.
But today, opposition remained cold. Amid massive attacks on the opposition workers, Tripura opposition miserably failed to turn them into issues. Hardly any incident turned into a national issue although everyday massive violence going on in the state.
National Congress has also no interest to take Tripura at the national level and Left is still hoping a “free and fair” election asking people to come forward to cast votes.
If compared with BJP’s performance in 2017 and Tripura’s opposition performance in 2022, it shows, BJP is easily going to sweep the 2023 Assembly Poll again.
