AGARTALA, Sep 26 (TIWN): Congress leader Asish Saha slammed BJP Govt for police torture against the agitating 10323 teachers. Saha met the injured 10323 teachers at GB hospital and condemned the incident. Addressing media, Saha said, “Democracy is already dead and right now in this state under BJP, no democratic movement is allowed. Indian citizens have right to protest and 10323 teachers’ fight is a fight for survival. In Tripura such barbaric attacks on the common men are continuously increasing. I condemn police brutality on the 10323 teachers”.
“I want to ask, why the Home Dept is silent when the anti-social elements go house to house and torture the common men, loot the houses, molest girls/ women. Then why the police was so active to torture the innocent, armless 10323 teachers ?”, said Saha.
The statement came after police lathi-charged and displayed heavy brutality on the 10323 teachers. The incident has left many of the agitating teachers injured.
