KAILASHAHAR, July 23 (TIWN): Amid ongoing protests across Tripura against the teachers’ crisis, students and parents at Kailashahar Baidyanath Majumder Smriti school locked the main gate of the school demanding more teachers. Slamming the State Govt which launched the Vidyajyoti scheme in Tripura schools, the guardians alleged, that in the name of the scheme huge loot is going on. They asked, ‘Where are Doctors in Schools promised by Tripura Govt in the name of Vidyajyoti School and they promised about first-class infrastructure and so many things. Forget about these, now can’t provide few Teachers also from class-1 to class-12”
The guardians also alleged that the school is providing low-quality mid-day-meal but taking hefty amounts of money like private schools.
“Why the Vidyajyoti scheme was only implemented in town-based populated schools and not in rural schools? Because they know in rural areas students can’t provide money and also low amount can be collected due to low students’ strength. Govt only needs money”, said a guardian.
The agitating guardians also warned if their demands are not fulfilled then for an unlimited period they will close the school.
The school has only 1 teacher in the primary section and in the higher classes also, there are huge teachers' crisis.
