AGARTALA, July 20 (TIWN): Tripura BJP Govt’s four years Governance’s report card is full of red-marks as from School Students to Elder people are expressing resentment about the Govt’s failure in all sectors led to various protests, road blockades across the stater. In such a move, public in Khowai blocked road on Wednesday in protest against massive power-cut problems along with pathetic conditions of the roads there. The agitating public at Champahaur market said the road from Khowai’s Champahour Chowmuhani via Hatimara, Ujan Maydan road is left in miserable shape. At the same time, they are facing tremendous electricity problems causing drinking water crisis and huge uncomfortable situations for the babies, students and old persons in homes.
“The PWD, DWS Depts are utterly failed to solve our problems. How long, we should tolerate such deprivations ? We have requested the authority to solve our problems many times but nothing was done”, said an agitator.
The protest was withdrawn after the Departmental authorities rushed to the spot and promised the public that their problems will be solved very soon.
In 2018, July month after BJP won Tripura Assembly Election, new Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath announced to increase VAT and impose cess claiming that it will be used for regular road maintenance which to help in the vehicle’s durability, but there is no sign of outcome of the Minister’s claim and how far tax collection was increased in the sector and how much was utilized, it is a matter of clarification which yet to be declared from the Govt side.
The opposition Congress alleged that there is no sign of any Govt in any dept in Tripura either its Health, Education or Power Dept.
