TPCC creates new cell to rescue deprived depositors from NBFC: Cell to function from January 12 - February 28

AGARTALA, January 7 (TIWN): With an opinion to constitute an impartial cell to resue the deprived depositors of the state from the chit fund companies, the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) today announced a new cell for the purpose of receiving applications and relevant documents from the investors and the agents or any person defrauded by various Non-banking Financial Companies (NBFC), said opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman today.

Interacting with the reporters here at Agartala Congress Bhawan today the opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman said that the new impartial cell will start its function from January 12 and will continue tillFebruary 28. The cell will operate from its head office at Agartala Tulsiboti area, said Sudip.

The six members’ cell will be headed by a retired Judicial Officer Subhash Bhattacharjee and will be assisted by other retired government officers.

Briefing the necessary documents required to bring to the head office Opposition Leader Sudip Roy barman said that interested person may voluntarily submit the photocopy of certificates issued by the concerned NBFC in favour of the depositors and the particulars of the NBFCs, the amount of money invested by the depositors, the date of such deposits, the date of refund with sum assured by the NBFCs, and other necessary documents. Sudip also said that one can also submit video clips against the NBFCs if they have any.  

However later talking tough on the fraudulent activities of the chit fund companies Sudip Barman said that it was the responsibility of the state govt. to rescue the depositors from the chit fund companies and to take a legal steps against the NBFCs. But the state govt. has completely failed rather Chief Minister Manik Sarkar allured the common mass of the state to deposit money at the chit fund companies like Rose Valley, Waris and Saradha, alleged Barman. Therefore the TPCC here decided to create a cell to act against the NBFC and rescue the deprived depositors, said Barman.
