An accused identified as Abu Bakkar Siddique was brought to Bishalgarh police station today on the charge of theft.

It is learned that he was attacked by the local people of Ambagan before the police arrested him. He later became seriously ill after being taken to the PS.

The accused was referred to Hapania Hospital from Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital as his condition was critical. However, the police of Bishalgarh police station refused to open their mouths about the incident.
