AGARTALA, Aug 7 (TIWN): After 6 days of attack on All India Trinamool General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, another violent attack took place on Trinamool activists in Ambassa, Dhalai today when the Trinamool activists were going to attend a programme. Their vehicle was targeted from a distance and stones, bricks were used to hit the vehicle. The attack looked like a pre-planned attack though the police's role was shocking. In the incident many Trinamool members were injured and Youth leader Sudip Raha received severe injuries on his head. State leader Asish Lal Singh was also seen present after the incident. Trinamool members expressed extreme displeasure over the police's silent role throughout the incident. However, some of the BJP activists could be identified by local Trinamool members. Though the miscreants were standing 200 metre away but police did not chase them. The vehicle was left in fully vandalized condition and at least 5 persons were seriously injured including two women.
Such attacks on opposition however are a very familiar incident under the BJP Govt in Tripura but for Trinamool such violent politics is being experienced for the first time.
On the other side, in Dharmanagar Subal Bhowmik and many other TMC members were arrested during a protest and after police arrested them, local people started gathering in support of Trinamool in the BBI field. As a result police security was beefed up there also.
