MUNGIAKAMI, July 20 (TIWN): Police Officials faced massive Threat after uncontrolled gathering, gherao hit Mungiakami Police Station seeking Release of Under-Trial murder accused persons who were involved in killing of four persons including a 15 years old boy.This mob-lynching case has been the most brutal mob-lynching case in Tripura ever where four persons lost their lives at a time. However, centering the arrest and court trials, today a massive group of people in aggressive manner gathered at Mungiakami PS seeking the release of the all accused persons, though the case is under the Court now and the accused persons are in jail custody. Tension prevails in Mungiakami.Tripura in last few years has developed mob-lynching culture.In 2017 a young TV journalist Santanu Bhoumik was killed brutally in Mandai where BJP's ally IPFT leaders including MLA Dhirendra Debbarma's name was booked by CBI.
But no action was taken so far against the accused persons. Since then many mob-lynching cases were reported where due to political pressure police could not take proper action and now in this case is also, hidden political agenda is allegedly working behind and mobilizing common men against police.
Total 4 persons were killed in this case and all of them are from Sonamura. Locals alleged that they were trying to steal cattle of the local farmers. One 15 years old boy was also killed in this attack.
Today, Mungiakami police faced massive threat due to the unprecedented mob gathering, who were misbehaving with police, raising their fingers at the on-duty police officials with illegal demands.
