AGARTALA, July 6 (TIWN): Four left organisation SFI, TSU, DYFI, TYF staged a protest against the ‘deterioration of law and order’ in the state and police's inactive role to take stern action against the hooligans who have been organising attacks on CPIM supporters, MLAs and elderly leaders.
The four left organisation showed demonstration by holding playcards and organization’s flags, in front of the CPIM divisional office on Tuesday at Belonia.
Speaking on the occasion, Madhusudhan Datta, DYFI's Belonia sub-divisional secretary said opposition leaders, members were being attacked across the state, but the accused has not been arrested by the police. Police are harassing opposition party’s leaders and members instead of detaining miscreants who are destroying the peace in the state by creating political violence. DYFI state secretary also said if Police arrests the BJP miscreants as a show off and instead of punishing hooligans, police are giving immediate bail.
Condemning such inactive role of DYFI state secretary warned in the protest program that if strong action would not be taken against the miscreants then the activists will gherao Police Station in coming days.
Apart from Madhusudan Datta the secretary of the DYFI, Ripu Saha, the president of the Belonia division of the youth organization, student leader Sukanta Majumder and other activists were also joined in the protest.
