AGARTALA, July 6 (TIWN): The Agartala Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 21 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organised ' Lec on Drug Abuse' at Jewel Club, Dhwajanagar, Dist - Gomati, (Tripura) for the local youth on 05 Jul 2021.

The lecture was aimed at spreading awareness on drug abuse amongst youth, its harmful effects and measures to avoid such menace.

It also aimed to sensitise masses on illicit trafficking activities and its effect on the society with due emphasis on saving more lives through rehabilitation and reconciliation.

The lecture was attended by 50 locals to include youth from Jewel Club.

The locals appreciated the endeavour undertaken by Assam Rifles and requested for conduct of such event regularly in public interest.
