AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): Tripura Congress has condemned BJP Govt led demolition of the War Memorial at Post Office Chowmuhani, Agartala.

Congress has said that such activities of the Govt is an accurate example of Dictator regime and insult of the martyrs.

The party has demanded immediate restoration of the memorial as it has hurt the sentiment of the population.

It can be mentioned here that even after BJP Govt's establishment in Tripura, Governor to Ministers had paid tribute to the martyrs at this Saheed Meener but now Biplab Deb Govt has demolished this permanently and shifted them in a park at the outskirts of Agartala.

This memorial was established after 1971 India-Pakistan war and two removed cannons of that place were the symbol of jawans' bravery which were snatched from the Pakistan armies.
