AGARTALA, December 5 (TIWN): When the state govt. moved fast forward in regard of the better preparation for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit here in Tripura on December 1, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state committee has been found to remain as back bencher. What might have kept the BJP Tripura as backbencher during Modi’s visit so much so that none of the State BJP leaders were visible in Palatana ?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi  visited the state on December 1 for the inauguration of the Palatana OTPC Unit II. A huge response starting from the state govt. officials from the common mass of the state could be seen following Modi’s visit here in Tripura. But most surprisingly when a section of people of the state were keeping their eye on BJP state committee’s response, State BJP faces were not visible.

During the reception of PM Modi at Agartala airport on December 1, no BJP leaders except the BJP state President Sudhindra Das Gupta was standing next to Bijoy Wrankhal to receive Modi at the airport. Modi has spent less than 5 seconds at Airport with State BJP President Sudhindra Dasgupta in Airport. And beside no BJP leaders found attending the inaugural function of the Palatana OTPC on December 1.

Earlier before the arrival of PM Modi, when the BJP state committee was asked about their preparation ahead of Modi’s visit they said that the preparation is on peak and they have scheduled to meet the PM Modi during his visit. What State BJP did during their brief 21 minute meeting with Modi is mostly invisible to media and people.

However, it is to be mentioned here that was it just enough for the BJP state President Sudhindra Dasgupta to place a memorandum before Modi ? State BJP should have requested Modi to ask Manik on scams, rather allowing Manik to sell his glorious image.

State BJP lost a golden PR (public relations) opportunity to portray themselves as flag bearer of “NaMo” wave in Tripura. Rather, smart Manik Sarkar grabbed the limelight next to Modi.

But according to the political analysis, the BJP state unit needs to strengthen their party strategy ahead of the forthcoming assembly election here in Tripura.
