AGARTALA, July 17 (TIWN): East Agartala Police has busted a big prostitution racket in the capital city Agartala on Friday. Local people said that this racket is going on from a long time. Talking to media SDPO Shashvat Kumar said that as per information, police raided the place and apprehended accused persons from there and interrogations are going on. From Bijoya Hotel, the accused persons were detained but when media visited the spot --- mobile phones, bags of the accused women were seen thrown outside. Few women were brought down via the roof and one needed stretcher and needed medical support. But, the Police officer has not said anything in details as whether anything happened before police went there. A woman was seen stripped off / cothless outside the hotel room. So there are possibilities of mob-violence on them. But Police did not say anything yet in details due to the sensitiveness of the issue.
Need not to say, amid State Govt’s much efforts to curb drug smuggling and crimes in the society, such anti-social activities are spiking up.

Whether in the Left era, the unemployment rate was at around 10%, now this has resulted in 21.3%. Nationally also, the unemployment rates are higher in Tripura.
Drug smuggling and other illegal activities are also at full wave and many frustrated youths are gradually moving towards a total wrong direction.
