Budget upsets Northeast, Oppositions lashed out Modi Govt for deprivation : Congress says, ‘Nothing for Northeast in Budget 2020’

AGARTALA, Feb 3 (TIWN): Lashing out at the Centre, Tripura Assam opposition leaders have criticized the budget 2020 of the Modi accusing it for “depriving” Northeast. When Tripura Congress said, it has forgotten about the Northeast, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) also, said there is nothing in the budget for the northeast. APCC president and Rajya Sabha MP Ripun Bora said, “There is nothing for northeast in the budget.” “Talks to develop the Sadiya Dhubri inland waterways was going on for a long time. This is totally a negative budget,” Bora said.Tripura Congress leader Gopal Roy said, “For unemployed youths, there is nothing in this budget. The budget failed to address the farmers distress too”. However, when slowdown hits National economy and people even do not argue about whether Modi Govt’s wrong policies are responsible for economic slowdown or not and nation is shocked by sales of Govt companies including Air India, LIC, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb claimed that due to Modi Govt’s policy and tendency of bring competition between companies, India is undergoing such massive revolutions that people are flying airplanes who wear chappals.

He also claimed that digitization and telecommunication are more revolutions which boosted Indian economy due to Modi Govt. CM was addressing in Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) programme when he said so.

He praised the budget and said, oppositions are saying against the budget just for opposing but this budget is exclusive, everyone knows that.On the other side, BJP hoisted a rally hailing the Budget 2020 across the Agartala City.

Tripura senior Congress leader Gopal Roy slammed the BJP Govt for not addressing unemployment issue, neither the slowdown.

The points he made are :  1.No employment scope 2. P.l.C share & Bharat petroliam share sale 3. Income tax/ no exemptions 4. New Rail station PPP madal 5. Sale of Air Inda & BSNLetc.

He also mentioned, “There is no allotment for north east developments. No word for farmers’ loan exemption. Overall, there is nothing for the people in the budget”

Reacting on the Budget 2020, former Tripura Minister, former MP Jitendra Choudhury said that the country is on sale under the Modi Govt.

He referred BSNL, LIC, AIR India, Bharat Petroleum.

CPI-M State Secretary Gautam Das on Sunday said that the budget 2020 is nothing but a document to sell out the country.

“BJP Govt now has only 2 missions. One is to make India as Hindu Rastra and another is to privatize the Govt organizations. From LIC to Rail all are at sale under the Modi Govt”, said Das.

“Today there is no security of the Govt employees as massively the institutions are privatized. The BSNL employees are insecure, frustrated”, he said.

Gautam Das further raised question, why the Modi Govt hasn’t kept much allocations for Swachh Bharat, Ayushman Bharat. Ujjawala Yojna and others ?

The Union Budget presented by Sitaraman also said that National Gas Grid to be expanded from 16,200 km to 27,000 km and at the same time reforms to be introduced to deepen gas markets, enable ease of transactions and transparent price recovery.

However, the budget also announced to launch Krishi UDAN for improving the value realization in North East and tribal districts.

“This will help in improving value realisation of farm & agricultural products, especially in the north-east and tribal districts,” Siraraman said.
