UDAIPUR, Jan 23 (TIWN): Ahead of Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s visit at Udaipur Netaji Subhas Mahavidyalaya, the nameplate of former Chief Minister Dasarath Deb who belonged Communist Party of India was covered with banner of Freedom Fighter Ndetaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The programme was dedicated to unveil the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at the College premise.
Reportedly, maximum College students rejected to attend CM’s programme and from nearby schools all students were brought to see the programme. Few local people and BJP activists remained present in the programme.
CPI-M MLA Ratan Bhowmik who was present in the programme was avoided by CM and reportedly CM rejected Ratan Bhowmik’s speech programme while offered by own party worker.
Moreover, he never mentioned for a single time that he studied in this College although in Election affidavit he mentioned that he is graduate.
Dasarth Deb was a political leader in the Indian state of Tripura.He was chief minister of Tripura from 1993 to 1998.He was a leader of the Ganamukti Parishad and the Communist Party of India. He was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1952, 1957, 1962 and 1971 from Tripura East constituency.
