AGARTALA, Jan 15 (TIWN): In the sensational murder case of Sushanta Ghosh who was killed brutally in West Agartala Police station and then hanged his body with a towel, Tripura Human Rights Organization has condemned Police brutality, terming it a part of National-Terror, further expressed resentment on the Lower Court judge’s role for sending Sushanta Ghosh in 2-days Police remand when nothing was found against Sushanta as such. Tripura Human Rights Association Secretary Purushottom Roy Barman has said that there is no need of such police remand in all cases for the investigation but still police remand is given but when police remand is given, police has no right to torture the accused person but police do torture by its brutal nature. Nationwide, police torture has become very common and the brutality is now a national problem. Purushottom Roy Barman said that Sushanta’s family is undergoing the nightmare-outcomes of the National Terror. He also said, how police attempted to take his statement again and again in a crime which he never committed. It is a pre-planned murder, Barman said. Moreover, after hearing was completed Sushanta on 11th January was not brought in police station till night 1 am before he died.

All political top leaders visited the house of Sushanta Ghosh including Manik Sarkar, Sudip Barman, Subal Bhowmik.

On yesterday, All India Lawyers’ Union (AILU) members who visited the custodial murder victim Sushanta Ghosh’s home today and met the family members, condemned the role of Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb after the custodial murder of Sushanta Ghosh at West Agartala Police Station.

Sushanta Ghosh was allegedly murdered in West Agartala Police station on January 11 night who was arrested in connection of ATM hacking but there is no evidence that ATM was hacked by him. Family members alleged, the ATM looted moneys were grabbed by police and planwise Sushanta was murdered.

After demand of CCTV footage's revelation was raised by public to media and political parties in Sushanta Ghosh murder case at the West Agartala Police station, Police have reportedly declared that the CCTV camera of that police station was off on that particular night. All India Lawyers’ Union(AILU) members visited the victim’s home and met the family members. Addressing media, AILU Tripura Secretary Bhaskar Debbarma said, “How can anyone believe that the CCTV was off. It is now quite clear that it was a planned-murder and to save themselves, police is saying all these. Police statement about CCTV camera is the proof that it was a murder” (Noteworthy, the same lockup’s photo was viral in BJP's social media on 30th October, 2019 when opposition Deputy leader Badal Choudhury was pushed in the lockup by force by OC-Subrata Chakraborty in a politically motivated case. After meeting, Sushanta Ghosh family, the advocates raised question, how in the Digital India such incident can take place where the Police station in a city does not keep CCTV camera on ? AILU demanded Judicial investigation in the horrifying murder case.
