AGARTALA, Jan 9 (TIWN): Legal action likely against a local daily Bengali newspaper Syandan-Patrika, owned by Subal Dey after his paper called Tiprasa mothers “Half-Naked†(Ardho-Ulongo in Bengali) in the front page of his newspaper published on January 8, 2020.
Royal scion Pradyot Manikya has warned Subal Dey to apologize in public or he is going to take legal action against the editor.
Subal Dey whose newspaper works as ruling BJP party’s mouthpiece often defame various Govt criticizing media but what his paper has done by calling tribe-women as half-naked, it was never seen in Tripura’s newspaper history.
If any other newspaper had done this, BJP Govt must called a ban on it, but as Syandan Patrika Editor is close to BJP and top media beneficiary, thus Govt hasn’t taken any action yet.
This instant again proves, BJP’s Beti-Bachao-Beti-Padhao slogan’s reality when the party’s mouthpieces are defaming women like this.
Also, the narrow mentality of few media persons in Tripura, specifically about women exposed by this mean post. Syandan-Patrika’s post also expresses the hidden women-related-frustration the media person whoever has published the photo with this notorious caption.
