Pradyot Manikya announced Anti-CAA protest from January 8 in Tripura

AGARTALA, Dec 25 (TIWN): Royal scion Pradyot Manikya has announced stir against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) from January 8 in “democratic” way.

Addressing media on Tuesday, Manikya has announced the protest decision was necessitated as Union Home Minister Amit Shah has not confirmed anything clearly about CAA’s future in Tripura.

Calling for peace, Pradyot Manikya said that all the agitators who will be participating in protest must remember that the protest is not against any community but against CAA.

Earlier, from December 9 to December 11, regional parties held strike in Tripura which was stopped after Govt had exchanged dialogues with the parties.

The regional party leaders and also Pradyot Manikya was invited by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to have a discussion on December 12. However, regional parties have paused the protest hoping, Union Home Minister will definitely take some positive decision for the indigenous people who are protesting against CAA.

On the other side, Royal scion Pradyot Manikya who filed a petition in Supreme Court against CAA has announced protest from January 8.

On January 8, CPI-M has also called strike along with nationwide strike with various demands for working class and also in partial  voice against CAA.
