AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Dec 22 (TIWN): In a rare move, Tripura BJP MLA has called for a protest against nationwide increasing rapes and crimes against women. The MLA is BJP’s sacked Health Minister Sudip Roy Barman (he was terminated after questioning on Law & Order), stated, one can not sit at home anymore keeping silence and in mute-mode as times for patience have crossed. He has announced a massive protest on 3rd January 2020 demanding ‘safety for women’. Barman has announced this protest verbally and also in written form after he met the 15 years old rape victim of Sonamura, who was gangraped after being kidnaped and dumped from car.

Barman in a press release said that India is a nation which was formed with the contribution of all religions people, but the women of this country are no more safe. 

The word “rape” has gripped the society and targeting from minor to old. “We have to fight against these "haynaas" in very strong manner”.

Barman further demanded justice to the Sonamura rape victim via Fast Track Court. “I condemn, express my deep hate to the rapists……such rapists are mentally imbalanced…. Can not be called humans at all”, said Barman.

The brutal rape incident which has shocked the whole state led Political party leaders also to rush to the hospital to meet the victim family. After visiting, Congress members told media that they could not meet the victim as her condition remains yet critical. BJP’s Mohila Morcha leaders also visited the GB hospital where is right now the victim is admitted. All the political parties have condmened the incident and said all are with the rape survivor and her family. Tension erupted after this minor girl of 15 years old was kidnapped while returning from school, gangraped and thrown on road.The survivor’s severe injured body was recovered from Thakurmura graveyard, was hospitalized and referred to GB hospital further. Her condition has been informed as very serious.The incident took place at Sonamura. A class-IX student while returning from school was kidnapped in a car.

It was her mathematics examination and after exam wen she was returning to home at around 3 pm a black colour Alto car kidnapped her and in evening the miscreants kicked her from the car, which was observed by locals.She was unconscious and it has been guessed that the miscreants thought her dead and thus thrown her on road.Local people took her to Sonamura hospital and after primary treatment she was sent to Melaghar hospital and the referred to GB hospital.The victim’s father is a daily worker. The girl’s statement could not be known yet as her condition is critical.Police have arrested one Jewel Mia, but verifying whether it is his original name of not. The car was seized which was used to rape the girl numbered : TR0140057.
