AGARTALA, Dec 21 (TIWN): Total 7 deaths due to poverty was reported in last one month and among them 2 are children who were poisoned by their parents before committing suicide.
One more was victimized in debt and poverty in the BJP era.
The man who committed suicide has been identified as Dilip Das, a small scale businessman at Kanchanpur of Tripura.
Debts turned huge matters as due to drop in Govt given mandays weekly debts turned difficult to pay and it is directly, indirectly affecting the overall economy.
In Tripura many small scale businessmen are under huge debts, profit losses.
Such situations are erupted in the state, after a massive drop of MGNREGA mandays from 88% to 33% in State Tripura under BJP Govt’s 20 month’s performance and slash of Govt project works for the people.
When state was promised by a big-size Vision Document it was never imagined that the Vision Document is not related to Central Funding leading uncontrolled tax imposition on the common men. So far fuel, electricity, trade license, municipality, health services, pensions, water-taxes are subjected to be taxes in addition of slowdown of markets and Govt’s inability to provide rural mandays.
