Winter intensifies its grip in Tripura

AGARTALA, Dec 19 (TIWN): Normal life has been affected by winter wave along with smog. With the ongoing days, foggy atmosphere started to grip that makes visibility almost poor. Even from a distance from 10 metres nothing can be seen. This situation continues for the second day.

In day time the temperature went at 17 degree but in morning and night it’s around 10.

Apart from fog, low temperature too has started to mark its impact in Tripura. Since last few days’ minimum temperature is falling day by day. According to the weather report of Agartala Airport Meteorological Centre the highest the minimum temperature is hovering around 11 degrees Celsius. In forecast for Friday the maximum temperature would fall down to 26°C while the minimum temperature will remain at 11 degree Celsius. 
On the other hand there was no major change in the day temperature that hovered around 25 degree Celsius marks.

Tripura had recorded its lowest temperature in winter at 2° C in 1972.

Mostly during the winter season, life observed crippled across the state because of the chill and attendance seem to get poor in most schools and government offices. The streets wore a deserted look and business establishments were closed.

Generally, in Tripura winter starts from November. This year it has started from the month of December.

Weathermen however said the chill in the wind can't yet be felt as the maximum temperatures have stayed high. The forecast predict that in the next 24 hours the minimum temperatures would hover around 11 degree Celsius.

Cold conditions prevailed at several places in Tripura, where heavy blanket of fog is likely to affect road traffic.

Winter intensified in the state along with the cold waves.

Another chilly morning is expected on Friday with icy winds followed by dense fog.
