AGARTALA, Dec 18 (TIWN): ‘Joint movement committee against CAA’ members met Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb in his official residence today with certain demands. Out of these demands, a demand was a Govt job and compensation for Late Matilal Kaipeng’s family who died due to violence during anti-CAA protest. At the same time, the leaders also claimed the cases which were filed against them are actually fabricated and false and the people who filed cases against them, they were actually involved in the violence. Thus, they have demanded to withdraw all cases against them. INPT General Secretary Jagadish Debbarma said that Chief Minister assured them that he will look into the matters in positive way. Earlier, the Joint Movement leaders met CM, Deputy CM, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and was assured by “verbal” promise of problem solution.The anti-CAA protest in Tripura started on December 9 and ended on December 11 after meetings with Govt.

After meeting the leaders, CM tweeted, “Had an important meeting with the delegates of JMACAB at Agartala and we had in-depth discussion on the present scenario of our State.Together we shall work for the development and well-being of Tripura and its people”.

On the other side, Royal scion Pradyot Manikya who too met Union Home Minister Amit Shah filed a petition against CAA after meeting Shah.

CPI-M ex-MP Jitendra Choudhury too has filed petition on behalf of CPI-M’s indigenous wing Gana Mukti Parishad (GMP). The hearing is scheduled to be heard today.
