AGARTALA / UDAIPUR, Nov 25 (TIWN): As animal sacrifice has begun in Tripura’s ancient Matabari temple, priests of Matabrai are hyper-happy and super-active now as the "sacrifice" has been started from today again. Priests told media that without "Bali" the puja of Goddess Kali remained unfulfilled.
Although in ancient Hindu-religion books as Gita and some Puranas forbid animal sacrifice, but in the 21st century it’s going on in India.
Animal sacrifice was banned in Tripura Sundari temple in High Court’s order and Govt has restarted it claiming that Supreme Court has put a stay order on High Court’s order.
Under DM Gomati’s permission this Bali process has been started by covering the area with black colour cloths.
A month after the High Court of Tripura imposed banned on the sacrifice of animals across temples in the state, the Supreme Court imposed a stay order on the verdict until further orders. On 11th November, talking to media, Tripura law secretary Gautam Debnath had confirmed that.
