AGARTALA, Nov 22 (TIWN): Tripura Police Department’s honest officials are under constant attack under BJP Govt. in various forms due to BJP leaders criminal activities. Even BJP MLA Surajit Datta on video blamed BJP MP Pratima Bhowmik for running Fensedyl smuggling empire alongwith her brother Biswajit Bhowmik, other Smuggler Tapas Ghosh. On Thursday night around 11.30 pm 3 phensedyl filled drug laden vehicles (allegedly owned by Smuggler Bishwajit Bhowmik, brother of Pratima Bhowmik) in Boxangar area near Sonamura attacked Police search party and overran one vehicle over Karamchor area Police Station Sub Inspector Durga Chardra Hrangkhawl.3 drug carrying vehicles in high speed have killed an honest on duty police officer Durga Chardra Hrangkhawl.But surprise, even after seizing 1 vehicle nobody was arrested in this connection after almost 24 hours of the incident. DGP A K Sukla has confirmed that it is not an accident death but something serious and 3 vehicles were involved in this murder.

The incident took place at Sonamura-Boxonagar road at around 11.30 pm when on being informed via secret sources Karamchara Police led by Durga Chardra Hrangkhawl rushed to the spot and chased the vehicle. At first a Swift car rushed over the police official whereas more vehicles came behind it. After the incident immediately he was taken to Boxonagar hospital and referred in GB. Today around 9.50 am he breathed his last. 

These phensedyl carrying vehicle has killed  the police officer was a sub-inspector appointed in Karamchara PS named Durga Chardra Hrangkhawl.Today he was paid the last tribute by the Police and State administration.The murder took place when the police official was doing his duty honestly and stopped the vehicle. The smugglers ran the vehicle over the police official.

Addressing media, DGP A K Sukla said that this incident can not be mark as an accident only, rather it is an intentional murder of police officer. DGP said, “I am personally very sad because I know that officer personally very well and also during my Karamchara visit, I saw him, met him”.

So far Chief Minister Biplab Deb, who is also the Home Minister did not give any comment after this incident.The ruling party’s top leaders are involved with this incident and the business is connected with them, said several Tripura based sources.

Rise of criminalism in Tripura politics have developed this situation today. Police’s lameduck silence against BJP leaders as Pratima Bhowmik even after threatening IPS Officers like Kiran Kumar are responsible for such increasing attacks on Police. Ruthlessness was displayed with police during search operation of an opposition leader Badal Choudhury and 10 police officials were suspended whereas in such a serious case, so far no arrest was done. Time to time allegations came against MP Pratima Bhowmik for her family run phensedyl business, Ram Prasad Pal’s brother Mana Pal and few more and it has wide expectations that raids will be done in such people’s residences also in coming days. Against Pratima Bhowmik, BJP MLA Surajit Dutta himself brought allegation of nexus with drug-empire and about her brother Biswajit’s drug-smuggling whole Sonamura and Dhanpur are acknowledged.
