AGARTALA, Nov 5 (TIWN): Many of the BSNL employees in Tripura have not received salaries for long 2 months and in the Leftist employees convention the members have hit the BJP Govt for attacking PSU employees.

A CPI-M leader said that Govt is using the salary drops just like a rich man keeps a dog to stop entries of any demanding person, beggars etc and whenever employees raised voices, the BJP Govt choses to show them the barking dog by stopping salaries.

“Central Govt PSUs should have enough funds to pay those employees. There should not be any crisis to the Govt at Centre”, said the CPI-M leader.

The debt-ridden telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL) is to make outstanding payments worth ₹200 billion to vendors. This means another 100,000 jobs in the domestic telecom sector are in trouble.

“This is an unfortunate situation. More than 1 lakh employees of domestic companies may be out of their job in the next few weeks if the government continues to ignore the financially-stressed industry,” Sandeep Aggarwal, chairman of Telecom Committee at PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry told national media.
