AGARTALA, Aug 30 (TIWN): Uproars in Tripura Assembly reported today over an proposed bill to empower police to arrest people in service who are disrupting Govt works in various means and this arrest will be without warrant.
Centering the proposed bill, oppositions hit the Assembly, chaos created, later walked out.
The opposition leader, former CM Manik Sarkar said that Govt employees are also citizens of India. They have right-to-raise-voice, they have right-to-protest. This bill will scrap their democratic right.
Then over law and order discussion more uproars created.
Assembly Speaker Rebati Mohan Das refused the motion’s proceeding.
Over the action of the speaker, opposition walked out of the Assembly.
Former CPI-M Minister MLA Badal Choudhury revealed that total 76 children were molested in last 6 months in this tiny state.
Opposition said, the Govt is too intolerant to listen to the opposition.
The Assembly Session has been started from today and to be ended on September 3.
The ruling leaders said that India’s most of the states have this law under the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA). It is a central law.
