AGARTALA, Aug 29 (TIWN): In a horrifying incident, one housewife named Soma Debnath was allegedly killed by her husband Sumit Das by burning her alive, in Noagao.

However,  husband Sumit Das has denied the charges, claimed him ‘innocent’.

Police have arrested husband and his mother.

Victim’s family members, locals all have directly accused Soma Debnath’s mother-in-law and her husband for murdering her. The angry mob came heavily after Sumit Das and his mother, however, police anyhow rescued both of them and taken them in hospital and police station.

Husband Sumit Debnath has directly declined the charges saying, “I have a child, why should I kill my wife ?”

He claimed on yesterday night she went to die two times by burning self after a fight between them whereas he saved her but at morning 7.30 am she burnt self”.

Her brother said, she was continuous victim of family-violence and her mother in law challenged that she will make her son separate from her.

Local women said, since morning they heard sounds from the home and violence on her undoubtedly happened.
