AGARTALA, Aug 20 (TIWN): As State Govt could not complete the recruitment of TCS, TPS examination yet and started interview of fresh candidates, a petition has been filed by one Samudra Debbarma in Tripura High Court. The petition was filed as TPSC began fresh recruitment whereas even after court’s order the TCS, TPS exams’ results wise recruitments yet to be completed. In July 2019, petition was filed against TPSC as TPSC allegedly continued to ignore High Court’s order of publishing TCS/TPS-2016 result. BJP State Govt cancelled all ongoing recruitments and Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) also cancelled all ongoing recruitments. Job aspirants knocked Govt’s door various times to reinstall the interview process but their pleas were not accepted. Then job aspirants filed various cases against the Govt’s move as well as TPSC. In such a case, Tripura High court has given the verdict vide case -W.P.(C) No-831/2018 on 14.05.2019 pointing out that there is no political motivation for recruit of Civil servants that envisaged in the Constitution and asked the TPSC to complete the recruitment process by 8 (eight) weeks after receiving the order. But till date TPSC didn't publish the said result and thus a case was filed in allegation of “Contempt of Court”.

Now, TPSC has started fresh recruitment and petition was filed against the fresh recruitment raising question, how without declaring previous exams’ results, TPSC can start fresh.

T. Debbarma, learned counsel appearing for the TPSC-respondent has relying on the affidavit-in-opposition filed today stated that the selection process as initiated in terms of the advertisement No.04/2016 cannot have any nexus with the selection process initiated by the TPSC by the advertisement No.02 of 2019. The advertisement No.02 of 2019 is in respect of the new vacancies for the posts borne in the Tripura Civil Service Grade-II and Tripura Police Service Grade-II. Moreover, since the cancellation of the earlier selection process has been interfered by this court and the selection process has been restituted, the said clause as referred above by the petitioners from the memorandum dated 20.08.2018 cannot of any help the petitioners.

Accordingly, this petition stands dismissed as not pressed.

K. Bhowmik, learned Advocate General assisted by Mr. K. De, learned counsel appear for the state and Mr. P. Datta and Mr. T. Debbarma, learned counsel appears for the Tripura Public Service Commission-respondent.
