CM flags off Beat Patrolling 2-wheelers for Tripura Police, 261 Bikes distributed

AGARTALA, Aug 12 (TIWN) : Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Monday flagged off the ceremony of 261 beat patrol vehicles of Tripura police held at Swami Vivekananda stadium.

Police officials with bikes now can do regular patrolling in each area to maintain law and order.

In his speech he said, this is going to be a big milestone for Tripura police. The new State Government is working hard to make drug-free Tripura, best and wealthy Tripura and to make Tripura a smart city.

"I want to give full responsibility to the Tripura police. Economy cannot rise unless Police doesn’t work properly being 24 hours awake. Government is investing in making “Smart Police”. Every constable should be always alert as to watch what is happening around them. Peace loving society will keep us united. Everyone has to be practically sound and alert in order for this investment to be fruitful", CM said.

While talking about this, he also picked up the matter of load-shedding that occurred in the city last night. He commanded the power department to be available 24*7 over the phone for encountering the grievance of public.

Government will not stand with any conspiracy, he added. He spoke about the good vigilance system in Dubai where people fear to commit a crime. As a result, the public feel safe and at home. Similarly, the Tripura police has to step up. Tripura is a small state, Tripura Police can do it. He also urged the public to be responsible and cooperative for their State, Police and the Government. Being acquainted about the setbacks of the police and their living, the Chief Minister promised to solve the problems once he receives the budget of 15th  finance commission.

"These equipped two wheelers will modernize our Police system and will increase mobility of the force to control antisocial activities." he added.

The colourful programme today held in the presence of high officials of Tripura Police Dept and other Secretaries.

CM ALSO said, these two wheelers will be helpful for Police officials for patrolling in every corner of city and control antisocial activities, giving warning to the cop to fulfill their duties at best.

Deb also told the police, from now there should not be day to day drug-smuggling issues as now you have vehicles.

Along with bikes, scooties were given specially to the women police. Massive numbers of police with new vehicles turned the programme colourful and lively.
