AGARTALA, Aug 8 (TIWN): As Supreme Court of India has removed the contempt of court charge against Tripura Govt under previous CPI-M Govt, on the basis of 13000 non-teaching posts’ filling up, the terminated 10323 teachers now have demanded that the Govt of Tripura led by BJP-IPFT to fill up the posts for which all 10323 teachers had applied. The 10323 teachers said that if Tripura Govt does this, they will be indebted to the Govt always. There was a contempt of court charge against the then Chief Secretary Sanjeev Ranjan and the then Secretary Education Susheel Kumar and one more official in 2017. On August 2nd, Court has dismissed the petition saying there is no necessity of contempt of court. The teachers told the Supreme Court that whether the terminated teachers will get jobs from 13000 posts it’s not sure but they ‘may’ get jobs and as a result urged the Supreme Court to permit for the recruitment. Teachers said, “It’s a massive victory for 10323 teachers and Govt can save teachers’ lives”.

In July 2017, Tripura Govt under Manik Sarkar’s Govt had released offer for 12,000 Education Dept Employees posts in 4 categories to save 10,323 teachers, that generated much resentment among the 7 lakhs of unemployed youths in Tripura. Reportedly, as for 1) Academic Councilor 1200 posts, 2) Student Councilor 3,400, 3) School Library Assistant 1,500, 4) School Assistant 5,600 posts & 1000 others under Social Welfare Dept.

The 1,500 assistant librarians posts created by Tripura Govt recently asked a 5 years teaching experience whereas no degree on Library science was required. But what surprising matter is that whereas a person can sit in interview for Asst Librarian posts, with 5 years of experience of teaching, but a person already having a library science degree is not allowed to sit in the interview.

On that time meeting the Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty, the Library Science graduates asked Minister Tapan Chakraborty on May-31, 2018 how the library science graduates will gather teaching experience ? Which school will provide a librarian a teaching job ?

Neither Govt nor private schools can appoint a Librarian or Asst Librarian as an Asst Teachers across the world. So how the librarians will gather teaching experience for 5 years ?

In the similar fashion for non-teaching posts Govt asked 3 or 5 years of teaching experience for each posts.

Now it’s to be seen how BJP led Tripura Govt handles this issue as Supreme Court permitted the recruitment but the recruitment-process can not be violated and has to follow MHRD’s rules.
