Relaxation in Teachers Recruitment erupts massive resentment among around 5000 B.Ed holders, 1141 TET qualified aspirants in Tripura

AGARTALA, Aug 6 (TIWN): Amid 1141 TET qualified job aspirants left jobless, Tripura Govt has told the Supreme Court and Central Govt that Tripura has lack of TET qualified teachers, managing special relaxation in recruitment process via TET. The issue came out when Supreme Court of India in its monitoring of 10323 teachers case asked Tripura Govt what it is doing to end teachers crisis in Tripura. Amid more than thousand TET qualified and B.Ed holders left jobless, Govt told the Supreme Court that there are huge crisis of teachers and B.Ed holders. So Govt of Tripura is sending students outside for B.Ed degrees with loans and also managed special relaxation of B.Ed in teachers recruitment. In November there will be massive recruitment in Tripura with relaxations”. “SC has expressed huge satisfaction on Govt’s role to end teachers’ crisis as by 2020, the 10323 teachers will lose their jobs".

After the hearing, addressing media, Ratanlal Nath said, “10323 teachers case is a long pending case in the court which was filed long back and still under process. Supreme Court terminated the teachers which put them (teachers) in problems. Our Govt is a responsible Govt".

"We found, teachers crisis is a massive problem and as we were responsible Govt we appealed in Supreme Court demanding extension and got upto 2020", said Nath. 

"We told the Court about lack of B.Ed holders and qualified candidates. Supreme Court while extending 10323 teachers’ jobs till 2020 said that the Court will monitor the case time to time what have we (Tripura Govt) done to diminish the teachers crisis. We have told court how we sent our students outside for B.Ed with loans and how we managed special relaxation for job aspirants. In November we will take huge numbers of teachers. Supreme Court is very happy with the Tripura Govt’s actions”, the Minister added. 

It was BJP to promise Tripura before Assembly Election 2018 to fillup 50000 posts in Govt depts in one year indeed. 

Unemployment rate in Tripura according to CMIE report is 23.3%.
