AGARTALA, June 29 (TIWN): BJP Govt’s nightmares continue as no respite in sight for massive unemployment, load-shedding statewide. Tripura Education Minister Ratanlal Nath is undergoing massive criticism in media for certain decisions taken in last few months. When ongoing controversy is going on regarding privatization of 20 schools, Nath courted one more after removal of a high official who had massive credits in developing Education system in Tripura. NCERT Director Biswajit Gupta was removed from his post and sent back to his previous position as a professor. He was allegedly personally called in the Secretariat and Minister Nath himself asked him to quit NCERT and join to his previous job.

When Gupta asked, what’s his fault, Minister Ratanlal Nath said, there are complaints against him, however, what are the complaints, Gupta was deprived to know. This has generated storms of criticism in state media and one BJP backed newspaper itself stated that Education Dept is headed by “madness”.

On the other side, in a statement, Education dept said that no ADC school will be handed-over to private hands, which has raised question, which schools will be handed-over indeed ?

National media which generally keeps attention far from states like Tripura has limelighted one particular issue of the state recently and it was about closed 20 schools in Tripura to be given in private hands.

However, the Education Minister said that the private authorities have to follow the Educational laws strictly.

For next 5 years, the schools have been allowed to use the ‘readymade’ infrastructure which were earlier invested by Govt of Tripura.

Ratanlal Nath earlier came in controversy for asking students GK in schools and colleges in front of media and Women’s College students alleged it humiliated them to be rebuked by the Minister in front of media.

However, under Minister Ratanlal Nath there are few developments as Board exam students' passing rates have increased, NCERT syllabus was added in Tripura schools.
