AGARTALA, June 15 (TIWN): Chief Minister Biplab Deb has invited Tripura Royal family member cum great singer RD Barman’s wife Asha Bhoshle who is also one of the most famous, legendary figures in the world of music.

Singer Asha Bhoshle was wife of Tripura royal family member, great singer/composer late R.D.Burman. Biplab Deb had a telephonic conversation with singer Asha bhosle on yesterday and invited her to Tripura.

 The decision came after Govt decided to dedicate a museum for the legend R D Barman. 

CM said, “I have invited Asha Bhosle in the famous land of Pancham da (RD Barman known as Pancham Da)”.

Bhosle reportedly has accepted the invitation on behalf of the 37 lacs people of Tripura.

“Our Government is committed towards promoting the art and culture. We have decided to build a museum to showcase the rich cultural heritage of renowned music composer & director Late Shri RD Barman. We have also requested Asha ji to inaugurate and be associated with the memorable initiative”, said CM.

Son of Sachin Dev Barman Rahul Dev Burman was an Indian music director who is regarded as one of the most influential composers of the Indian film industry. From the 1960s to the 1990s, Burman composed musical scores for 331 films.
