BJP Govt lays special focus on Roadway Projects, Tourism Industry in Tripura for 2019-20 FY

AGARTALA, June 10 (TIWN): BJP led Tripura Govt has decided to lay special focus on roadway development and quality maintenance works. At the same time, Tourism Industry will be given special focus and roadway is the key of Tourism. Both the projects will be acted as basic infrastructure of economy in coming days. Govt of Tripura has announced special loan relaxation for them who have interest in tourism related businesses.According to the offer, it has been said, if anyone takes loan of 5 lakhs, Govt will recover 8% of loan out of it.These 8 types of infrastructure are : 1) Hotel for tourists, 2) Toilet, Restaurant, Dhaba 3) Speed-boat, house-boat, hunter buying, 4) Sports-spots’ establishment either in land or water, 5) Eco-tourism creation, 6) Yoga or Ayurvedic centre opening near tourist spots, 7) Transport mechanism in connection with tourism, 8) Propaganda-dept to promote tourism.Special focus was laid on roadway projects as an amount of 3.48 crores have been sanctioned for NH-2018 and NH-44(A). Due to monsoon damage, the Govt also has sanctioned more Rs. 43 lakhs in this purpose.

An estimate for erecting bollards from Agartala-Sabroom has been sanctioned for Rs. 1.38 crores on 27th May. For the improvement of Bagafa to Jolaibari has facilitated by Rs. 1.82 crores. Tenders have been invited for the purpose.One FOB has also sanctioned for change of scope in front Tripura University at Suryamaninagar.

For smooth functioning of PWD works and time to time maintenance of roadways, Govt of Tripura has formed ‘Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring’ unit (in short form PBM). The unit will function under monitoring of PWD Chief Engineer and will be responsible for budgeting, monitoring all maintenance works. It was decided as after each maintenance work, at a sudden splash of rain, roadways become pathetic. So to over the poor road quality Govt has decided to “stop practicing of mixing carpeting and seal coat ingredients during constructions, improvement, strengthening and re-carpeting”. Latest technology will be used by mechanical means.Also Govt planning to buy stone aggregates replacing brick-chips. 

Tenders are on way for various projects which includes Kailashahar-Khowai-Teliamura route, Manu-Simglung, Kumarghat-Kailashahar, Telimaura-Hariana, Churaibari-Agartala, Julaibari-Belonia.
