AGARTALA, March 23 (TIWN): BJP's ex-Vice President Subal Bhowmik has exposed the face of Biplab Deb Govt’s “Nesha Mukt Tripura”. Bhowmik has slammed the BJP Govt on its baseless claim of 65000 ganja seized by Tripura Police under Home Minister Biplab Deb asking where have these 65,000 kg ganja have gone ? Subal Bhowmik while giving interview in a local TV channel clearly said, top two leaders are involved in that business where ganjas are returned to the smugglers in exchange of commission. He further slammed the BJP party saying BJP standing for a party where anybody can speak anything against anyone. He further raised question, why BJP was silent against its own MLA Surajit Datta’s allegation of Pratima Bhowmik is involved in narcotic smuggling. Subal Bhowmik said, “If this allegation was wrong, why BJP was silent and didn’t give any clarification ? It means Surajit Datta’s allegation was true. Then how people can accept a ganja smuggler as MP candidate ?”Amid tall claims of Nesha Mukt Abhyan, Tripura’s narcotic consumption has increased by 10% in BJP era. With a suspicious move, now Govt has removed the checking system in the border for vehicles coming from Bangladesh and allowed any vehicle to enter 3 km inside Tripura without stoppage, which has increased chances of more smuggling and illegal exports and imports.

Tripura not only tops in narcotic consumption in the whole country according to national data, but also the narcotic consumption has increased 10% in 2018 than 2017. Govt data has revealed, ‘Even though countrywide consumption of tobacco has been decreased by 10%, but in case of Tripura it has been increased. Moreover now 55% death causes in Tripura are due to tobacco consumption. Due to unemployment rate’s increase however such illegal activities are on spike'.

Amid Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s so called ‘Nesh-Mukt-Tripura’ slogan, brown sugar, ganja smuggling have turned more rampant. Till now police couldn’t answer about the destruction of seized drug items in Tripura.

It’s quite surprising when BJP Govt is claiming a Govt against Drug empire and arrested around 500 people in drug mafia, but till now police couldn’t end the mafia regime fully, whereas if investigation was proper then the narcotic den could be unrooted as the Govt has ruled over 1 year, raising question why drug empire has increased rather than decreasing.
