AGARTALA, March 14 (TIWN): Tripura Human Rights Commission (THRC) full bench headed by Hon. Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta on 12th February,2019 directed Director General of Police Tripura to submit a report on the TIWN Editor Saumen Sarkar’s complaint of gross Human Rights Violation against Editor's Senior Citizen parents by Tripura Police and threats of arresting Editor under NSA Acts. Police threats against TIWN Editor Saumen Sarkar is Politically motivated under the instruction of Chief Minister Biplab Deb, Addl DGP Rajiv Singh and Editor approached Tripura Human Rights Commission against gross misuse of power by SP West Ajit Pratap Singh, OC East PS Debashis Saha, SDPO Suman Majumder and other Police officials. THRC full bench issued notice "We accordingly direct the Director General of Police, Tripura to submit a report in connection with this complaint in a sealed cover".

After BJP Govt took over Tripura from March’2018, tripurainfoway.com turned prime target by BJP Govt as this media exposed BJP General Secretary Pratima Bhowmik’s role in murdering her brother’s wife, then Pratima Bhowmik and her brother Bishwajit Bhowmik’s involvement in Marijuana, Phensedeyl, various Narcotics smugglings. Even MLA Surajit Datta accused BJP General Secretary Pratima Bhowmik for running Phensedyl smuggling operations (video clip available in public domain).

Present Chief Minister Biplab Deb and his OSD Sanjay Mishra threatened tripurainfoway.com via various BJP persons that this portal must stop criticizing news against BJP Govt, otherwise it will be shut down via various means as a revenge.

In October’2018 onwards there were heavy pressure by Police and BJP leaders on TIWN’s local Journalists, Photographers to stop working or risk going to Jail.

BJP Govt filed few false cases and started harassing tripurainfoway local field staff from 2018.

BJP Govt started harassing Editor’s senior citizen parents at Agartala home by entering home at nights from November 9 to 14 ( 4times) and threatened them with dire consequences unless I shut down the portal ( I live in USA, my parents live in Agartala)

BJP Govt then misused IT Act 69A to frame false charges and sent letter to Union IT Ministry to instruct DoT (Dept of Telecom) to block portal. So Central Govt blocked tripuraifnoway.com in December 2019. TIWN was forced to open a second portal after that.

After that, CM Biplab Deb and BJP threatened immediate arrest under NSA whenever Editor lands in Tripura. Editor was also threatened with life by BJP leaders unless Editor stops the portal which is well known for exposing corruptions.

In a rare display of mafia behavior just because of news publishing against BJP’s JUMLA cheatings, Police targeted all Journalists, Photographers family members even though Police has no proof, no case, nothing against anyone but Police filed few fake cases against TIWN Editor Saumen Sarkar only for exposing Biplab Deb led BJP’s wrongdoings, corruptions, various JUMLA.

In earlier Judgement on January 17, 2019 Tripura High Court warned SP West, passed order to immediately stop Police harassment of TIWN Editor Saumen Sarkar’s Senior Citizen Parents Gopal Sarkar, Niyati Sarkar, ordered SP West to provide them Police Protection immediately and never commit any illegal step of entering their Agartala house and illegally questioning, harassing under the pretext of cases against TIWN Editor.

In a rare step to protect Democracy and Citizen-rights, Tripura High Court within 24 hours of case's 1st hearing on January 16, summoned SP West Ajit Pratap Singh to High Court on Thursday, Jan 17,2019 and passed this historical Judgement.

On 17^th January,2019 at 2pm at Tripura High Court in front of Justice Subhashis Talapatra, SP West Ajit Pratap Singh accepted Police's Illegal step of entering TIWN Editor's parents house at night, harassing parents, begged forgiveness so Court ordered Tripura Police for TIWN Editor's parents protection.

TIWN’s this huge victory in High Court is a tight slap on face of Tripura’s ‘Saddam Hussain’ cum self-styled Dictator Biplab Deb, who under the Chief Minister’s official post ordered Police to commit Illegal acts,  Illegal threats, Police torture and shut down various Media offices.
