AGARTALA, March 12 (TIWN): Amid allegations brought by BJP led State Govt and Chief Minister Biplab Deb, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarman about Left Govt burdened the State with hefty amounts of debts and deficits, a report has revealed the previous Govt left at least Rs. 1400 crores in stock which has been wasted by Chief Minister and few of his other Ministers. TIWN already published a news based on Congress brought allegation how Biplab Deb renovated his whole quarter after former CM Manik Sarkar’s departure, luxurious gym and multiple AC machines were brought for CM’s quarter and Ministers brought new furniture at the taxpayers money. Few Minister didn’t like the tiles and thus replaced the tiles. A daily newspaper has revealed, those funds came from nowhere than the preserved fund of the previous Govt at the amount of Rs. 1400. At that time, national report said that Central Govt had asked state to control the luxuries against unnecessary expenditure. Due to extravagant expenditure only now fund crisis has gripped the state. From Panchayat employees to SSA staffs many didn’t get their salaries yet in this month erupted huge resentment.

Moreover, State Govt has presented as zero deficit budget, whereas huge tax collection from the public increased revenue in 2018 more than double in compare to Left Govt’s 2017’s revenue.

Even from the pensioners, taxes are being collected now. To enter local fairs, Govt programmes, entry fee has been added. Even at Agartala Book Fair like programmes bike parking sought 10 rupees of charge this year. In similar way, at Battala and many other places, parking charges have been imposed on the common men leading a regular parking-bound person to pay 300 rupees per month.

Even though Deputy Chief Minister who is also the Finance Minister Jishnu Dev Barman hit CPI-M Govt accusing for bearing wrong economic policy claiming that 1600 crores as deficit and 12900 crore rupees of debt were kept for the BJP Govt, but the previous Govt never imposed burden on common men, rather kept the central govt under pressure for fund releasing.

It has been known, even though a pay matrix has been announced, but many employees yet to get the benefits properly. Two years’ DAs are pending. No pension hike, rather tax imposed on pensions.
