AGARTALA, September 22 (TIWN): Scam after scams with probable involvement of the executive(s) and one after another damnation from the apex judicial establishing of state, to the state government, are, ironically, posing severe threats to the left government having multi directional shelling from there recognized pillars of the democracy- Judiciary , Legislature and the Executives. Where the Judiciary and Executives are doing their bit to weaken the existence of the red flag, only the legislators are remaining to contribute their part towards putting left parties last bastion Tripura’s survival at stake.

The disobedience to the highest constitutional body by a senior Police official of the state has come out through an exclusive fact finding operation by the TIWN. On last March 5, 2013 the High Court of Tripura put a stay order on the promotion of twenty four Tripura Police Service (TPS) officers. But, superseding the High Court’s order a senior Lady IPS officer of state Police had written a letter in favour of 16 out of those 24 Police officials for their promotion to the next level. “The letter has been issued from the DG i.e. Police Head Quarter (PHQ) office” told one of the TPS officers who filed the case in the HC opposing the way and the policy of the promotion of those 24 officers to TPS Grade-II. The official who wished not to be named further informed that inclusion of Dhirendra Das and 23 others into the TPS Grade-II cadre is simply against the TPS recruitment rules. The case number in HC is 21/13 and Chief Secretary, Secretary (General Administration & Personnel Training), DG (Police), Secretary (TPSC) were made the parties in the case, mentioned above.

While talking to TIWN, the TPS officer informed that the mentioned 24 officers have been awarded the status of Cadre grade (Grade-II scale) from the Ex-cadre posts through TPS march. And the same breaches the TPS rules. The unathuorised transformation from Ex-Cadre to Cadre was made way back on last November, 2006 and furthermore in the year 2011 a seniority list was issued by the department concerned and in which those illegally promoted officers were included , reported TIWN’s state Secretariat sources.

Now what prompted a Lady IPS officer (formerly in charge of Traffic department) to go against the order of the HC is a question which calls for nepotism and some other issues, not disclosed yet. The obvious question is also that why that officer of PHQ choose only 16 not all the 24 officers? Was the IPS officer involved in any bribery or was provided with undue advantage? Who were the patronisers of this shocking act of overruling HC directions? At due course of time, perhaps the answers of all these questions may give birth to another Arnab and  Bimal like turmoil.
